Irish Christmas Cards
Painted Irish Christmas cards for family across the sea, and for the folks at home. A whitewashed cottage under its thatch, a village pub with lanterns at the door, a little harbour where the boats rock at their moorings, a country church lit for Midnight Mass, and sheep in the snowy fields under a rising moon: each scene is a winter evening as many of us remember it, or as our grandparents described it.

About these cards
Every card opens with the Irish greeting Nollaig Shona Duit, “Happy Christmas to you”, written beside the painting rather than painted into it, so it stays crisp on any screen. Your own message sits next to it, in your own words.
The cards are animated quietly, in the browser. Snow falls in three depths, firelight flickers in the windows and smoke leaves the chimneys, and the small details come alive if you watch for a while. A robin turns its head on the wall. A terrier on the pub step wags its tail. A cat on the harbour bollard breathes slowly as it watches the water. The bell rings in the little church while lanterns glow along the path, and a sheepdog waits by the gate as the sheep look round. Nothing loud, and no sound.
The candle in the cottage window is a nod to an old custom: a light left in the window on Christmas Eve, as a welcome. It has travelled with Irish families wherever they settled, and a card is one small way of keeping it lit.
Questions
How much does a card cost?
Each card is sold on its own, with nothing that renews behind your back. The prices page shows every price, in dollars, pounds and euros, with the pack of ten and the year pass. See the prices.
Can it arrive on Christmas morning?
Yes. You choose the day it should arrive and we keep it safe until then. It travels by email, or you can copy the link and share it yourself.
Can I stop the animation?
Every card has a button to stop it, and on a device set to reduce motion the card moves more gently, with the busier effects left out.
