Nollaig Chridheil
Scottish Christmas Cards
Scottish cards painted like two winter nights: a still evening in the Highlands, with a stone bothy on the shore of a loch and the hills pink with the last of the light, and a little harbour village on Hogmanay, its clock tower lit and almost at midnight.

About these cards
Each card carries a Scottish Gaelic greeting, set beside the painting in a flowing hand, never painted in, so it stays sharp on a phone or a large screen: Nollaig Chridheil, “Merry Christmas”, by the loch, and Bliadhna Mhath Ùr, “Happy New Year”, at the harbour. Your own words go underneath.
Watch for a moment. By the loch, the heron in the shallows stirs, the stag on the far bank turns its head and the boat rocks on the shingle. At the harbour, fireworks burst far off in the sky, the fishing boats rock at their moorings with their lanterns trembling on the water, and a seal on the quay, a Shetland pony behind the wall and a cat on the doorstep each turn to look.
They are made for anyone with Scotland in their heart: family in the glens, cousins in Canada or the Carolinas, and everyone who has ever stood by a loch in winter or waited for the bells at midnight and wished they could send the view home.
Questions
How much does a card cost?
Each card is sold on its own, with nothing that renews behind your back. The prices page shows every price, in dollars, pounds and euros, with the pack of ten and the year pass. See the prices.
Can it arrive on Christmas morning?
Yes. You choose the day it should arrive and we keep it safe until then. It travels by email, or you can copy the link and share it yourself.
Can I stop the animation?
Every card has a button to stop it, and on a device set to reduce motion the card moves more gently, with the busier effects left out.
