Wesołych Świąt

Polish Christmas Cards

Polish Christmas cards painted like two winter evenings: a wooden house in the mountains, with a horse and a red sleigh at the fence and the peaks pale beneath the stars, and a wooden cottage under a deep roof of snow, its carved window lit on a table set for Christmas Eve.

A note from the shopkeeper

About these cards

Each card carries the greeting Wesołych Świąt, “Merry Christmas”, set beside the painting in a flowing hand, never painted in, so it stays sharp with every accent in place. Your own words go underneath.

Watch for a moment. In the mountains, the lantern by the door swings gently on its hook, the horse’s breath clouds in the cold and snow streams off the peaks when the wind gusts. At the cottage, the two candles on the table flicker, the cat in the window swishes its tail, the horse looks out of its stable and a robin on the fence post turns its head, while the first star shines over the church.

For many Polish families the most important evening is Christmas Eve, when the first star in the sky is the signal to sit down to supper. These cards are made for that evening, and for the people you would keep a place for at the table.

Questions

How much does a card cost?

Each card is sold on its own, with nothing that renews behind your back. The prices page shows every price, in dollars, pounds and euros, with the pack of ten and the year pass. See the prices.

Can it arrive on Christmas morning?

Yes. You choose the day it should arrive and we keep it safe until then. It travels by email, or you can copy the link and share it yourself.

Can I stop the animation?

Every card has a button to stop it, and on a device set to reduce motion the card moves more gently, with the busier effects left out.
