Frozen Lake

What moves in this card

• The red fox in the snow turns its head now and then, flicks the white tip of its tail and breathes softly, its breath clouding in the cold.
• The snowy owl on the dock post slowly turns and tilts its head, fluffs its feathers now and then and breathes softly.
• Firelight flickers in the two cabin windows and the little diamond window in the door, the lantern by the door and the lantern on the dock glow, each casting a warm pool of light on the snow, and smoke curls from the chimney.
• The steel blades of the old skates and the ring on top of the lantern catch the light now and then.
• Stars twinkle across the sky, a shooting star passes now and then and birds fly over.
• Faint northern lights hang above the far forest, glowing green and fading to violet, their curtains slowly folding and brightening now and then.
• Snow falls in three depths; in the gusts, loose snow blows across the ice and along the ground, snow slips from the birch and fir branches, the cabin roof and the cap of a dock post and lands in little heaps, and frost glints on the snow and ice.
