The Village Green

What moves in this card

• The two mallards by the pond turn their heads, cock them now and then and breathe softly, feet planted in the snow.
• The black and white cat on the wall looks round from time to time and breathes slowly.
• The lights on the tree twinkle in four changing patterns, and the star at the top pulses.
• Firelight flickers in the cottage windows and in the tall church window, and pale glints drift across the frozen pond.
• Smoke curls from six chimney pots and leans with the wind, and snow slips from the roofs and the tree and lands in little heaps.
• The pink of the sky glows and fades, the bright star pulses, the other stars twinkle, a shooting star passes now and then, birds fly over and frost glints.
• Snow falls in three depths, with the odd gust that lifts loose snow along the ground.
